“Bapu” is a Punjabi term of affection for a grandfather. The name reflects agricultural roots that reach back to the family's arrival in California and the work that followed.

The almond business traces its roots to M/T Trading Company, formed during the 1980s.
Bapu Farming began building experience across Central Valley crops and operating conditions.
After the Samran family acquired M/T Trading Company, the business was rebranded as Bapu Almond Co., Inc.
